What is Regional Planning?
Regional Planning is the development of long- and short-term plans and policies to provide for various levels of growth, while assisting local government and private officials in making decisions concerning physical, social, economic, and environmental problems.

How does the First District use Regional Planning?
First District staff is experienced in assisting local governments and private entities in strategic planning exercises, which result in the development of tools to manage the change and complexity present in their specific environments. These plans and policies are developed to address the areas of community development, land use management (zoning/subdivision regulations), recreation, transportation, community facilities and infrastructure.
